My biggest stress at work these days is English.
I am having a very hard time getting my skills up to an unmanageable level.
I live in Japanese. I am confident that I can speak Japanese better than other Japanese.
My English grades in junior high school in Japan were not bad. I always got close to a perfect score.
However, I do not speak English.
At my workplace, there are so many opportunities to use English.
Communication with customers and vendors outside the company, as well as reporting to my supervisor within the company, is basically in English. English is also necessary to communicate with engineers in overseas departments.
Internal bulletin boards and communications are also in English.
Unfortunately, I am unable to form English sentences in real time, so English conversation is not possible.
It is very troubling.
I have so much difficulty with English that I feel sick in the TOEIC test room.
I am always wondering how I can learn to speak English.
I have been trying to learn a lot of English vocabulary and reading a lot to get used to English, thinking that this will help me overcome my weakness, but I don't feel that it has produced any results at all.
What do you think we should do?
